Library members can participate in these great online book clubs for free!

WA Public Libraries Online Book Club

The Libby Book Club for WA is a monthly digital book club available exclusively to Western Australian library members, hosted by local author David Allan-Petale.

The book club, delivered online - will take place on the third Wednesday of every month. During this digital book club, guests will have the opportunity to ask questions, interact with the authors, and enjoy a well-rounded bookish discussion.

Public library members can now borrow this month's book for the Libby Book Club for WA with no waiting or holds on the Libby reading app.

To participate in the book club discussion, visit the State Library's Libby Book Club page and register your interest. The Zoom link will be sent to you on the day of the event.

Together We Read

Together We Read is a digital book club for public libraries in Australia. The club runs for a two-week period in August or September each year. During this program, there will be no waitlists and no holds for the selected title. Download Libby to borrow the free ebook or audiobook from your library using your phone or tablet.

Once you've got the eBook, you can join the Together We Read online discussion.

Big Library Read

Big Library Read takes place three times per year and is available in over 20,000 libraries around the world. It connects millions of readers around the world with an eBook through public libraries and is the world's largest digital book club. During past programs, readers have participated in engaging online discussions about the title. The program is facilitated by OverDrive, a digital reading platform for popular books, audiobooks and magazines.

During Big Library Read, you can borrow the featured eBook without waiting through the Libby app.

The library's book clubs meet on the first Thursday and Saturday of the month- spaces are limited, contact us to enquire about joining. However if you have previously read the current book for that month, you are welcome to come along and join in the discussion.
