The Democratic Sausage

This week we are showcasing some photographs that document recent history, and the wonderful almost institution of the ‘Democratic Sausage’. Arguably the best part of election day, especially for those too young to vote… Apart from our priceless democratic right to vote of course.

At the recent Voice Referendum, last 14 October, I found the wonderful members of the Lathlain Primary School Parent’s and Citizens Association, hard at work at the refreshments stall. After buying a delicious sausage and drink then enjoying munching it down whilst observing the democratic process in action, I asked the volunteers on the stall if they would mind me taking their photographs for the Local History Collection. I am most grateful to them for their enthusiastic response to my humble request. The joy on the faces of the volunteers is pretty evident I think you will agree.
