Time-warp Tuesday is a regular weekly post series on the Town of Victoria Park Library’s Facebook page and website. The posts come out each Tuesday as implied by the name. It is a series with a regular posting day that aims to generate a following and to encourage people to check in for their weekly dose of local history.

The posts are usually focused around a person, topic or item from the Local History Collection that is currently part of the research and tasks of the Local History Coordinator. A recent post, for example, looked at identifying the location of two photographs that had been donated to the collection. The photographs were of the same house but from different angles and they both featured the Bingham family, or so the notation on the back of the images said. There are also some ongoing series that appear as Time-warp Tuesday posts including Nomenclature of Victoria Park, entries into the biannual Local History Awards, and entries into the Victoria Park Dictionary of Biography.

The idea behind the posts is to increase awareness about the Local History Collection at the Library and to encourage people to share their own local stories and items such as photographs, ephemera and other items, that can be donated or copied for inclusion into the collection.

The posts always start with the inclusion of the hash tag #TimeWarpTuesday and end with the hash tag #LoveVicPark, so that all the posts are grouped together if people would like to search for them.
