Kanopy

Stream thousands of indie films, classic cinema, festivals, and education documentaries with Kanopy!

Kanopy is a video streaming platform for public libraries delivering one of the largest collections of indie films, classic cinema, festival and educational documentaries online or through an app. The services enable Public and State Library members to browse and view more than 30,000 films and documentaries from top suppliers, including the BBC, Criterion Collection, Ronin Films and Madman Entertainment.

Borrowing limit 8 tickets a month. Each title will be labelled with a ticket value. Kanopy Kids content is exempt from the ticketing system
Reserves As there is simultaneous access there is no need to reserve titles. However, you can create a watchlist, i.e save films you want to watch later.
Loan period Once selected, each film may be viewed, paused, finished and rewatched over a 72-hour period.


To access Kanopy:
Connect via the website.

To create a Kanopy account: Select sign up (top right corner) and enter relevant information, i.e. name, email address and password. A verification link will be sent to your email. Click on this link and log in using your Victoria Park Library card and pin number.

To watch on a computer: Stream movies and TV shows online from your web browser.

To watch on a device: Kanopy has an app for both iOS and Android-based devices. Download Kanopy from the Apple App Store or Google Play store.

Alternatively connect to the website via your device's web browser, then stream movies and TV shows online using your device.

You can also access Kanopy via Roku, Apple TV, HDMI cable or ChromeCast.

Hoopla

hoopla is a digital media service that allows library members to borrow movies, music, audiobooks, ebooks, comics and TV shows to enjoy on their computer or mobile device with no holds or waiting. hoopla offers a massive catalogue of more than 900,000 titles (and growing) which are instantly available to members.

Borrowing limit Members can borrow up to 6 instant titles per month
Reserves As there is simultaneous access there is no need to reserve titles. However you can add titles to your Favourites so you can access them later
Loan period 3 days for videos(movies and tv shows), 7 days for music albums and 21 days for eAudiobooks, eBooks and eComics


To access hoopla:
Connect via the website

To create a hoopla account: Click Get Started, then enter your email address and password. Search for Town of Victoria Park Library, then add your library card.

Note: In order to access this resource you must have a Victoria Park Library card. Our cards all have the prefix CL130V.

To watch on a computer: Read, watch or listen from your web browser.

To watch on a device: hoopla has an app for both iOS and Android-based devices. Download hoopla from the Apple App Store or Google Play store.

Note: if accessing hoopla on a mobile device you must download the app. It will not work through the mobile browser.
